ArcGIS Online supports a variety of authentication methods, including built-in accounts and enterprise accounts (LDAP, Active Directory)
ArcGIS Online supports integration with enterprise identity providers using SAML
Role-based access control allows administrators to specify which users or groups can access certain services or data

ArcGIS employs HTTPS/SSL for secure web communication
